What's her deal?

Yep, random far-away picture from like 3 years and 1 baby ago. Yes, that's a cane, but don't worry I got mostly better. And yes, those are white Crocs, but don't worry they were related to the cane and I got rid of them. I get a little dizzy looking at that picture.
Born in Massachusetts, I then lived in southern California, New York, Panama, NorCal, and Virginia. I claimed Humboldt County as home until I hit the 5-year mark in the Old Dominion. When my dad retired from the Army I was free for a couple of brief years at the College of William & Mary, then yolked myself right back up again and moved with my blue-eyed soldier boy to Italy. We travelled everywhere we could afford on a 2nd lieutenant's pay, and I lived a relatively pampered life other than my husband being gone 2/3 of the time (including 15 months with his bedroom door in range of an RPG). Army life doles out such high highs and such low lows.

Pregnant, we left Italy, stopped in Arizona long enough to have the baby, and now find ourselves in Japan.
I started this blog as "Adventures in Marriage" to keep up with the family while we were overseas, but I only chose that name for lack of anything better, and really...is blogging about your marriage ever a good thing? Maybe for really wise, awesome people. Anyway, I've been married for 4.5 years and a mother for 1.5 and wouldn't change a thing.

I dabble in music, photography, backyard birding, swimming, physical yoga, and other joint-friendly things. I hike when the marthritis lets me. I miss riding horses. I can knit rectangles, but I have expensive taste in yarn so I don't usually. I still make mix CDs. I'm one of four siblings and I miss them like crazy. I am not crafty. I am exceptionally picky with church music. I could end up on "Hoarders" or "Strange Addictions" if I'm not careful.

I believe every good thing in my life is a gift from God, and every bad thing will eventually be turned to good for His glory.
